It's difficult for the Australian squad to break new ground.

The greatest achievements have long been mastered.

We're talking about the squad that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, plus an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed nearly four years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, targeted by the peak baggers, are all that remain for a squad that has achieved everything.

That it took up to Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase exceeding 300, reclaiming their record for the biggest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, in truth, a tribute to the pitchers that have represented Australia over the last half-century.

It's challenging for their batsmen to possess a record if not provided the opportunity.

What's definite is this hundred was far harder to predict.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 came as she was the highest scorer, but this knock came after six matches in India over the past few weeks in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've observed me in practice sessions, it was a disappointing period because it appeared I lacked timing at all," commented Healy.

"But once you enter the playing area, your fighting spirit activate and you completely engage with the contest."

Healy's fighting spirit has continuously been her great strength - and an invaluable trait in succeeding iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, fallen to the 22-year-old seamer in all three matches, but this time it merely gave Healy's spark.

A single came off Gaud's first delivery and from that point Healy was in motion.

"The possibility to take the field and lock in a contest with her and just have a bit of fun in that regard, somewhat inspired me," stated Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 deliveries - her quickest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 as she punished short deliveries, hitting 21 fours and three sixes.

By the time she was removed Australia needed 66 more at one run per ball - an achievable target now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I am glad we have the belief to accomplish that now," added Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to do it another time but, if necessary, we are confident we can do it."

Those words will be the ultimate thing competing nations at this championship should hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will triumph from any situation has grown stronger - this triumph following success over Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a meeting with traditional opponents England in Indore in ten days, by which point a last-four spot may likely be confirmed.

It was at that stage they exited the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to ruptured tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the inaugural occasion at a significant event.

Such is her determination, she subsequently stated she wished she had played through the pain.
